Online Accounts
As a constant internet user, one would have atleast 10 online accounts.
Let me jot the list based on most common things that I see people use.
1. Yahoo email account - This is one of the earlier emails that became popular.
2. Gmail - seeing the features of gmail, people slowly moved out of Yahoo mail to Gmail.
3. Skype - It has become a mode of communication. Not having a skype account is like being disconnected.
4. Facebook and Twitter - Can't believe if someone using the internet and says, 'I don't have an account in facebook'.
5. Online Banking/Credit Cards - This is becoming popular in India and I see a good IT business in it.
6. Bill Payments - Cell phone, electricity, etc can be paid online by registering your account. Uff, this is adding up to the list of 'passwords to remember'.
7. Online shopping - Wow, this is picking up speed. Atleast for a 'try', people have created accounts online to experience online shopping. Oh no... :(. I can't remember these many passwords.
8. Office - At office, there are various accounts - email, laptop password, portal password, etc.
Solution - There is one. If you use one particular machine, you may say, 'Remember Password' in your browser. But, is this good?
I want something like this - Google must come up with a browser that remembers our settings and passwords on the web in an encrypted format. Currently, they have something similar that will remember bookmarks and you can open them anywhere on other machines by logging in to Google account. Wouldn't it be nice to have an 'account for accounts' (AFA)?
On one hand, I see people telling, 'I am so used to saving data digitally that I sometimes forget my wife's cell phone number'. On the other, we are compelled to remember data like userid and passwords that become confusing beyond a limit.

Comments
Also lately, there is a new trend started with mobiles coming in. For instance watsapp and viber. They don't need you to remember any username or password. All you need to have is a verifyable SIM Card.
