Blog bytes

It has been long time since I wrote anything interesting. Lots of topics in mind and that means, it takes time to put it down. Let me write in bytes.

SFO and San Diego visits: My wife and I had good visits to San Francisco and San Diego recently. SFO visit was also our first visit to our brother/bhabhi home and also introducing my wife to all the friends in the Bay Area. My brother took us to Golden Gate Bridge, Twin Peaks, Pier 39 and Lombard Street. My wife got the first glimpse of the "city look" in the US with lots of people in the downtown area and people enjoying to their limits.

Our San Diego visit was an unexpected one - A job interview making us visit that area. Along with the interview trip which was fully paid by the host company, my wife and I planned to stay there longer and visit Disneyland and Sea World. Disneyland was worth the money even though we could cover only half of it. The rides were awesome. Fantasmic (the firework display) was fantastic. Our stay in San Diego was at our friend's place who hosted us with typical Indian food (lemon rice, dose-chutney, etc).

Apart from trips, here are couple of interesting bytes:
In India, if D stands for Doctor and D stands for DEvatha, elsewhere, D stands for Doctor and D stands for Devil. It is awful to make this statement which for many seems true, yet have to swallow it. Here is a small story - A person has stomach upset for no reason and tries to visit doctor. Doctor does immediate scans and tests and declares, "you need treatment for 3 months". Person becomes Patient now! Patient is worried and for some reason, his company is changing medical insurance from Insurance A to Insurance B. This is informed to the doctor. Doctor tells, "Oh, then come after a month so that we get full information of your new insurance. This way, we can bill them easily." What happened to patient? Should he bear the stomach upset or related issue for a month now? ha ha. The deal is, there is nothing wrong with the patient. One more interesting note: In the scan, it reads, "Appendix could not be easily located. A case of appendicitis cannot be excluded." Actual deal is, the patient's appendix was removed long back and this statement is baseless! With all these, Patient asks doctor, "Can I eat anything I want or should I be under any diet control?". Doctor replies, "No, no. Eat anything you want." In this case, if patient believes the doctor and eats samosa, gobi manchuri, aalu paratha, chole and spicy punjabi curry and madras curry, the patient can easily sue the doctor I believe!
