Computer's brain transplant

Home laptop which was in coma for the past 4 days was given a new brain today! I had to change the hard drive - it is like putting a new empty brain to the already existing body. What will happen to the old brain now? The old brain has lots of useful information which has to be recovered. I have bought a hard disk enclosure which can be use to plug that crashed disk to any computer via USB. The first try today didn't work though. Have to try differently next time.

This hard disk crash has a moral story - do not keep your hard disk un-partitioned. I had not done any partition and when a crash like this happens, there is no way one could install other OS to other working partition.

Visiting Badami-Aihole-Pattadakal

 We visited Badami-Aihole-Pattadakal in Nov 2021. This is the preferred time of the year to visit as the weather is suitable between October and January. Rest of the year, this region will be very hot and will be tiring to walk in hot sun. Badami is roughly 450 Kms from Bangalore. Options to reach there is via train (night train) or by road. If we start early morning at 5am, we could reach Badami by 2pm depending on traffic and weather conditions. Breakfast option is near Tumkur. After Tumkur, there are very few food options. Returning back to India

This blog will go for a long discussion within me. If this is Chapter 1, there will be many more chapters to come till I make a decision. Very often, I get this question - "Should I go back?" If so, when? Sometimes I feel, I should. Other times, I don't see the need. This change of answers inside me is just swinging like a pendulum. I have seen people being in this phase and then finally deciding to go back. The end result is so much to take and give that it is a total change of life for someone who has lived outside India for nearly 5 years. Hasn't India changed in the past 5 years? Can I adjust to the latest society and trends? How is it to live in a busy city and work in an office 20 miles away from home. How is the work environment in India?
