Ranji Final 09/10 - A superb finale

Ranji Trophy 2009-2010 Final was an exciting one between Karnataka and Mumbai which was played in Mysore's Gangotri Gladiators.

Karnataka needed 204 to win when they started play this morning (Jan 14, Sankranti day, day-4 of the match). Stadium was jam-packed with no place to sit. Around 10,000 had gathered to watch their side win. Manish Pandey and G Satish were playing well for the 4th wicket. They put on 200 runs partnership. After Manish got out scoring 144 (team score was 255), Karnatka needed 83 runs with 5 wickets remaining. Scoreboard kept moving slowly inching towards the target of 338.

18 runs were required with 2 wickets in hand. After the 9th wicket fell, Karnataka required 16 more. Then, it was "7 required" when Agarkar (Mumbai fast bowler) was bowling. Mithun and Aravind were at the crease. Aravind hit a loose shot to send out a simple catch to Agarkar and that was the end of the match :(.

It was a superb game of cricket which was witnessed by a huge crowd which cheered the home side and also Mumbai once they won the match. Match was live on tv too!
