Cell phone to ping friends

I am in Jayanagar and I want to know if my friend 'A' is nearby so that I can meet him.

It is a calm Sunday evening and my friend is passing by in my locality. He wants to say 'hi' to me since it has been a long time. He doesn't want to call me to check if I am in. He wants to locate me on his cell phone to check if I am around. With a quick SMS, he will drop by.

I will accept only certain people into this 'track me' feature in my cell phone. That way, I can maintain my privacy.

Question: Can we recommend this to our cell phone companies in India?

What does it cost cell phone companies? Nothing. They track users via 'cell'. So, it is easy.

Does it come with added cost? May be 10-15 rupees extra per bill is OK.

On the business front, is this feature elastic? Yes. If friends meet in a shopping area, they might drop by somewhere for a coffee/dinner/etc. If a visitor drops by at home, there might plan for a dinner-n-movie, etc.

Nice idea. Why depend on cellphone companies? Write an app on Android and/or iPhone and patent the idea. You can sell the service yourself.

Visiting Badami-Aihole-Pattadakal

 We visited Badami-Aihole-Pattadakal in Nov 2021. This is the preferred time of the year to visit as the weather is suitable between October and January. Rest of the year, this region will be very hot and will be tiring to walk in hot sun. Badami is roughly 450 Kms from Bangalore. Options to reach there is via train (night train) or by road. If we start early morning at 5am, we could reach Badami by 2pm depending on traffic and weather conditions. Breakfast option is near Tumkur. After Tumkur, there are very few food options. Returning back to India

This blog will go for a long discussion within me. If this is Chapter 1, there will be many more chapters to come till I make a decision. Very often, I get this question - "Should I go back?" If so, when? Sometimes I feel, I should. Other times, I don't see the need. This change of answers inside me is just swinging like a pendulum. I have seen people being in this phase and then finally deciding to go back. The end result is so much to take and give that it is a total change of life for someone who has lived outside India for nearly 5 years. Hasn't India changed in the past 5 years?
