Quick trip to CA

It was a quick trip to CA for the Memorial Day Weekend. All the words said by the co-passenger on the way from SLC to SJC are still fresh. It was a co-incidence to see that person again on the way back too.

Saturday was SJSU graduation commencement ceremony with Omid Kordestani, Senior VP, Global Sales, Google, being the guest speaker. His punch word to 20,000-odd audience present at Spartan Stadium was, "think like an immigrant". He emphasized that immigrants have the mindset of challenging the world and achieving what they want (in many cases, against all odds). I don't know how the audience took this statement. Personally, this was a very bold statement by the VP! Oh.. I forgot to tell - why was I there in that ceremony? My SIL graduated with a Master's degree! With parties and food all day, it was time to sleep when the clock struck 10pm.

Sunday was a fun day - Boating at Charbot lake and later, Cherry picking at Brentwood - We get to pick the cherries from the trees and each pound costing 2 pounds. It was lot of sampling of cherries for all of us. Each tree had a different taste - some sweet and some sour. We picked from around 20 trees and this meant we eating 2-3 cherries from each tree. In the end, we totally picked 12 pounds of cherries in the bag; few pounds in our belly ;).

That man, the co-passenger on my flight from SLC to SJC.., I forgot to tell about him. He was telling that he has 8 kids! His wife had the first one by C-section and the doctor said not to go for more kids as she might develop complications. Little did the doctor know that this guy will change the doctor because 'uska dil maange more'. So, he changed the doctor and this new doctor put full confidence in him, 'Your wife is perfect. Go for as much as you want.' Here he goes... for the next few years - baby after baby... Feels like his wife is pregnant most of their marriage till now. FYI, his eldest kid is 25 and his 8th kid is 7 years old. Didn't I tell you, all 8 kids were C-section babies!!! 'baap re baap'!!!! You might ask me, "Why was he telling all these to you?" . naaah. He wasn't telling this to me. I overheard him telling these to the lady sitting next to him. That lady was flying with a 5-month old cute baby with her (her 3rd kid).

8 C-section babies?
I wonder why his wife still chose to live with him after maybe 4 of those?:)
