Daddyhood

I want to relax and think about my daddyhood. What was my first expression when I saw our son few minutes after he was born? How has it been these 7+ months?

Quick answer - Everything is happening so fast!!!

First time I saw him, I was very excited and my first thought was - "He resembles his mom so much!!" Initially, he was very tiny and I had to handle him with great care. Few months down, his neck became stronger and he could keep his head vertical.

Every milestone is a moment to remember! The first flip from back on to stomach, his first moving forward, his first crawl, etc. - All are so exciting to watch! If I missed it, I will get report from my wife or mom. If they missed it, I report to them immediately.

It is said, Kids are equivalent to Gods. I am sure on that note. We get 'theertha' very often. If we are too fortunate, we will also get 'prasaada' when we are courageous to carry him without his nappy ON.

Time has been an important factor now. It is very rare to find any spare time for me. Only time I am free is when he sleeps in the night. Even though my wife takes care of him most of the times, I am always on-call for her :).

Looking forward to...
His walking, his blabbering, talking..., more playing, etc.

My first thought at the sight of my baby - "Gosh! I can't believe that huge thing was inside my tummy for so long!"

Visiting Badami-Aihole-Pattadakal

 We visited Badami-Aihole-Pattadakal in Nov 2021. This is the preferred time of the year to visit as the weather is suitable between October and January. Rest of the year, this region will be very hot and will be tiring to walk in hot sun. Badami is roughly 450 Kms from Bangalore. Options to reach there is via train (night train) or by road. If we start early morning at 5am, we could reach Badami by 2pm depending on traffic and weather conditions. Breakfast option is near Tumkur. After Tumkur, there are very few food options. Returning back to India

This blog will go for a long discussion within me. If this is Chapter 1, there will be many more chapters to come till I make a decision. Very often, I get this question - "Should I go back?" If so, when? Sometimes I feel, I should. Other times, I don't see the need. This change of answers inside me is just swinging like a pendulum. I have seen people being in this phase and then finally deciding to go back. The end result is so much to take and give that it is a total change of life for someone who has lived outside India for nearly 5 years. Hasn't India changed in the past 5 years? Can I adjust to the latest society and trends? How is it to live in a busy city and work in an office 20 miles away from home. How is the work environment in India?
